Whiting, Indiana generational memory in modern America oral history project, 1990-1993.

The collection consists of two reels of microfilm containing transcripts of oral history interviews conducted by John Bodnar of the Indiana University Oral History Research Center. During 1990-1993 he interviewed two groups of residents of Whiting, Lake County, Ind., those living during the Depression and World War II, and those living after the war. The goal of the project was to compare the memories of these two generations to ascertain how memories and values help create generations.
